The objective of this paper is to investigate systematically the discipline of supply chain management (SCM) within the context of sustainability. The two concepts are increasingly aligned, and sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) represents an evolving field where they explicitly interact. Given their complex and holistic nature, breaking down the literature to understand its structures, processes, connections and limitations can provide an objective view of the status of research in these highly important fields, identifying key areas for future research/theory development.
A systematic review of current SCM literature is carried out, specifically in relation to the social and environmental dimensions of sustainability.
SSCM and the integration of sustainability into supply chains is a significant but evolving field evidenced by a current bias in the literature towards theory development and highly qualitative research methods. The environmental dimension is significantly better represented in the literature through specific processes at all stages of the supply chain. The social dimension is recognised, but receives less emphasis than expected given SCM's focus on interaction, relationships and communication. These two dimensions are treated separately in the literature with limited insight on how to integrate them and current SCM and sustainability research provides limited practical outputs.
The review focuses on environmental and social sustainability within supply chains without explicit consideration of the economic dimension.
The review highlights the key themes and issues for supply chain managers faced with implementing sustainability. It also illustrates a number of areas for future research, along with the need for researchers to develop more practical tools for implementing SSCM.
Indicates the extent to which sustainability is integrated within SCM and where the research emphasis currently lies. The environmental dimension is significantly more defined and developed in the literature. SCM literature emphasises the importance of long‐term supplier relationships, but this “people‐focused” approach does not appear to translate into socially responsible supply chains. It suggests that the more process‐driven nature of environmental sustainability makes it easier to put into supply chain practice. There is also limited research or evidence on how the two dimensions can be integrated despite recognition of their inter‐relationship.

Industry 4.0 (I4.0) is an innovative way of improving organizations' production methods by using new technologies that revolutionize the Supply Chain (SC). Traditionally, SC managers focused on simple tasks such as delivering products to customers and assuring that a company maintains a sufficient supply of raw materials to sustain ongoing operations. However, with the fast progress in logistics, SC Management (SCM) has become a complicated process involving forecasting demands, establishing lucrative partnerships, and optimizing business performance. To overcome this challenge, Smart Supply Chain Management (SSCM) uses several technologies such as Big Data (BD), the Internet of things (IoT), Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Advanced Robotics (AR) to analyze data, and identifies trends and opportunities in the market that enhance the effectiveness of logistics, whether inside or outside of the company. This paper examines the available literature on SSCM. It aims to assess the impact of new technologies on SSCM.

Supply Chain Management: Literature Review and Some Issues
Supply chain Management has assumed a significant role in firm's performance and has attracted serious research attention over the last few years. A literature review reveals a considerable spurt in research in theory and practice of SCM. Combining and informing on features of Supply Management and distribution Management. This integration has resulted in the concept of extended enterprise and the supply chain is now manifest as the collaborative supply chain across intercompany borders to maximize the value across the entire supply chain. Research opportunities in SCM has been reviewed by many researchers and grouped into many categories. This paper contains a review of research SCM and classify into 7 categories, namely (1) SCM Operational Management & Strategy, (2) knowledge management, (3) Relationship Management, (4) Information Technology in SCM, (5) Supply Chain Design, Logistics & Infrastructure, (6) Global Issues, (7) Environment, Legal & Regulations. The objective of this paper is to do the systematic review of the articles published over a period of last 20 years from 2000 to 2020 in the area of Supply Chain. Design & Methodology-Literature is searched by using appropriate keywords like: Supply Chain, Supply Chain Integration and Supply Chain Variables. In total, 91 scholarly and peer reviewed articles from 63 journals are scanned to understand the nature of work done and to document the accumulated knowledge in the research articles. The literature is examined and classified according to the nature of work, methodologies applied in their study and sources of data collection. Findings-In the literature, the highest number of articles totaling 31.42% of articles is under the classification of Supply Chain Variables. This is followed by: 23.8% of articles under the classification of Supply Chain Integration, 8.57 % of articles related to supply chain collaboration. In the last 20 years, few researchers have done the comprehensive survey of articles in the area of Supply Chain. Overall, 9.52% of articles under the category of "literature survey or literature review papers" are scanned in this article. Interpretive Structural Modeling(ISM) seems to be the most popular tool among the researchers in the area of SCM. 46.80% of researchers are using ISM in their study for modeling the variables of SCM. This is followed by 9.37% Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), 3.125 % TOPSIS and AHP. Various statistical tools like Average, Means, Standard Deviation; ANOVA etc is being used by 37.50% of researchers. Total 58.00% of researchers have collected required data for the study from the literature and remaining 34.00 % from Survey and 8% from mixed. Research implications-This study classifies the literature based on the nature of the work in the area of supply chain and provides the guidelines for further research. Since its introduction as a concept in the 1980s, supply chain management (SCM) has undergone significant modification and expansion. A qualitative analysis of 166 unique definitions of SCM published in the literature identified three major themes associated with the supply chain and SCM: (1) activities; (2) benefits; and (3) constituents/ components. Utilizing these themes, key research questions and issues within the supply chain and SCMare identified that could be examined by marketing scholars.

The multidisciplinary origin of SCM has led to a variety of definitions and approaches. Despite the vast body of academic literature on the subject, there are few examples of successful SCM implementations. Indeed, the implementation of SCM requires the deployment of a set of practices that the company should establish to ensure its success. The implementation of SCM practices can impact the various components of the company's performance. The aim of this paper is to review the different definitions and approaches of the SCM, present the practices that allow companies to better manage their supply chain. Also analyze the various performance measures and the impact of SCM practices on the overall performance.

Supply Chain Management is a methodology of improving the business processes, making them more resilient, more agile and as a result, more competitive. The main function of SCM is to improve the product or service competitiveness (Machowiak, W. (2012). This paper is an endeavour to study, understand and interpret the evolution of supply chain management. On the basis of systematic literature review, we have attempted to explore the future of Supply Chain. We have captured various definitions of SCM provided by experts from the initial to recent period along with major classical definitions. Various dimensions of Supply chain are an integral part of this study. The paper discusses SCM and its dimensions; and tries to delineate SCM from related areas like Logistics Management, Value Chain Management and Operations Management. The paper also elaborates various theories of SCM. On completion of thorough literature review, the paper ends with a conclusion and future scope of work.
